How to find out if I still have a florida drivers license after moving out of state?

I lived in florida 6 years ago, i am now moving back there from iowa and I am gonna be starting college. I don't wanna pay out of state tuition and my mother told me that my license in florida would still be good i just need to tell them i need a replacement. Does this seem true?
