Do you have to have car insurance to get a Florida drivers license?

I'm 16 and about to travel to Florida and currently dont have a license. Do I have to have proof of insurance before I am able to get my teen restricted drivers license down there?|||You can go to dmv.org and click on your state to check the specifics for Florida. However, usually you only have to show proof of insurance when registering a car, or renewing the registration... not when getting your license.|||You have to be a resident of FL to get a license in the state, you can't just drive down and get one. FL is a no fault insurance state, and any vehicle you drive would have to be insured, but you wouldn't have to show insurance to get a learners permit.

Every person under 18 years old MUST hold a Learner鈥檚 License for one year 鈥?there are NO exceptions to this law.

No person may drive alone with a Learner鈥檚 License 鈥?regardless of age.|||yes you do. if you drive you need coverage.
