How old do you have to be to get a drivers license in Florida?

I was wondering if anyone knew how old you have to be and what steps need to be taken if you are out of school and 16 to get a drivers license in Florida....is there a permit? do you have to go to a driving school first?....

any suggestions would be apreciated!

Thanks|||You can check out this page that will explain the Florida license process to you: http://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/apply-lice鈥?/a> You have to be at least 15 before you can go for your permit, and even if you are already 16, you have to have the permit for one year before you can get your restricted license. To go for your permit, you will need:

Two original or certified identification documents.

Social Security card, if you have one.

Proof that you've completed a Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education course. (If you have a license from another state or country, you can show it and this requirement will be waived.)

Parental Consent Form, which must be signed in the presence of the driver license examiner or notarized. Step-parents may not sign unless they have legally adopted you.

$20 fee.
