Can you rent a car for the florida drivers license test in Florida?

alright, so i'm wondering if i could use a rental car to pass my drivers license test in florida. i looked at other questions like this and thought i'd ask myself, since the questions i looked at were a few years old, and laws might have changed. i don't see why i couldn't, but just to be sure, i'm asking anyways. thanks :)

- Claire|||I don't think that it is a wise idea to hire a car for driving test. As if you meet with any sort of accident and the car get damaged then you and your mom will be in serious trouble. So do keep in mind all the consequences before taking a hired car for road test.|||Hello Claire,

Well in California - you can do it. But their rule is that if you use a rental car for the driving test, the driver鈥檚 name must show on the contract as the insured.

So, your Mom will be renting it - since she is the one licensed, but they need to indicate you as a driver somehow...

It would also be a good idea to call and clarify - the state law does differ for this matter.

Good luck!|||Nope you have to have a license to be added to the rental agreements insurance policy, and in most cases you have to be 21 or over to even be added to the rental agreement. and if she did rent it and something were to happen while you were driving it, she would be buying a car out of pocket.|||You are too young to be an authorized driver of a rental car. It doesn't matter who rents it, if you aren't authorized, you cannot legally drive it.|||Car rental companies require ALL drivers to have a full drivers license, a major credit card in their own name and meet the location's min age requirement (usually 25 or over, sometimes 21 or over).|||It's a no go because you need to be a licensed driver to rent car. No license? No rental.
