I would still be paying insurance in NY as it is cheaper than Florida and if I got stopped I would say its my dads car as he has the same name as me.|||That is called rate cheating in the insurance industry. You have to register and insure your car where you LIVE, if you live in FL, you register and insure it there. If you have an accident, your NY insurance CAN %26amp; probably will deny coverage. I don't think lying that this is your father's car to the insurance will work because it is obviously your insurance policy %26amp; they would deny coverage because you didn't own the car! So, if you keep your NY insurance, it will get really expensive if they don't cover an accident that you have to pay out of pocket! There is a reason the insurance is more in your area in FL, there are more claims payouts where you are in Florida compared to where you used to live in NY.
Get your car registered in FL and insured in FL then you will know you have coverage %26amp; will not get a ticket for living in FL %26amp; not registering %26amp; insuring your car there.|||anything to keep from being legal , jeez|||Florida police look for out of State plates as a reason to stop vehicles. If you work in Florida, I believe it is 10 days or less that you are required to get Florida licence and plates. If you are stopped by a State Trooper, he will do a vigorous check on all your paperwork.|||Seems to me you asked this question worded differently and we told you no. If it wasn't you, the answer is still no, always will be no, that is illegal and will get you a denied claim in the event of an accident.
